Walking up Ulriken is something people in Bergen, Norway do just for fun and/or exercise. You can choose several ways up. Everything from relatively easy and scenery to steep… really steep.
Walking up a beautiful Saturday, enjoying the nice weather and in company with other enthusiastic people we noticed an alarming number of off road bikes. Sometimes these daredevils come chasing down this mountain as if they’ve lost all breaking functions and mom is serving their favorite meal for dinner…. and they are late!!!
Not this time. This time it was an organized event. The “Ulriken utfor”, meaning Ulriken Downhill, was happening and we saw riders in all ages chasing down as if there was no tomorrow.
This bike belonged to one of them. Waiting to take the gondola up for yet another nervracking run down. What a way to enjoy a Saturday
